Salesman Eulogy
Good guy. Always hit his numbers. We're gonna miss him.
And then the salesman landed the biggest account of his life. He made lots of money. Commission they call it in the industry. What industry? It doesn't matter what industry. He made lots of money and that’s what matters in every industry.
It’s also what mattered to the salesman.
The corner office. Expense card. Company car. Directors and Officers insurance.
The salesman watched his stepdaughter play soccer on Saturdays. He married the pretty wife he hardly knew. He got the best seats in the basketball arena. He always shot under par and held court in the Men’s Grill.
The salesman also liked hookers and cheap blowjobs. He liked strip clubs, too. He liked gambling in Vegas three times a year with his college friends. He liked cocaine and pills. Uppers and downers. A heart with holes in it.
And then the salesman lost the biggest account of his life. He lost lots of money. Commission they call it in the industry. What industry? It doesn't matter what industry. He lost lots of money and that’s what matters in every industry.
