Hiya,
Dropping by to give a little Friday update and to show off the AH-MAZING portrait my author/artist buddy Micah Chaim did of yours truly. Micah’s a rare talent, and I highly suggest you check out his Eudaimonia series (books) and his art portfolio.
So, COVID - it’s definitely shaken up some things. You all know. Kids are suddenly out of school. Economy tanked. Industries are in turmoil. Netflix is better than ever.
Here, we’re all staying safe, staying home, and doing what we can to help out. I hope you’re all hunkered down and doing the same and keeping healthy.
Projects:
Ghost River: I definitely lost some ground on revisions (tbh, I couldn’t think straight for a couple of weeks during the initial panic of the pandemic) but I’m back on the ground running again. I’m wrapping up my second draft revisions this weekend, with only a small polish pass left to go. Until I have a chance to pow-wow with the editor, I’m not adjusting the July release date yet.
Feeding America COVID19 Fund - I started a fundraiser page to support Feeding America, a non-profit, that works to strengthen a network of food banks in America. All of the money goes directly to them. If you want to do something to help out in the COVID fight consider checking it out.
Stuff I like right now:
I’m a MASSIVE Nine Inch Nails fan (you likely know this if you follow me on Twitter) and they just released two ambient/instrumental albums for free. These. Records. Are. Amazing. I write to instrumental/ambient music, and a lot of NINstrumental, so this is critical to get your hands on if you’re like me.
Doom Eternal - Old-school gamers (like moi) will never forget DOOM, the video game that likely started our foray into FPS’s. DOOM: Eternal is brilliant and fun. It delivers that vintage fast pace, all demons must splat feel. Usually, I’m a stickler for a great story in video games, but not this one. I want no story. I want guns, and I want demon viscera in buckets. D:Eternal delivers on both.
So, yeah, that’s what’s going on here. Making the life adjustments we all are. Trying to stay positive, help where I can, and create my heart out. We’ll get past this.
Without you, everything falls apart,
Chad
P.S. If you subscribe, I will smile. You will get more cool updates from me. Maybe even some new artwork, like Pretty Baby here:
